Pay range: $16.50 to $19.00 per hour
Basic Job Scope The first job of the Painter to bring the job in on budget, with a happy customer who will recommend our company, and also you as a Painter. To participate in all activities related to the accomplishment of specific jobs. Must be able to perform all duties noted in the job description, follow safety rules, and common sense safe-working practices. Must maintain a clean appearance and customer friendliness
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Post reports and pictures on monday.com and to crew lead any issues with the project as soon as they arise.
- When error or flaws are found with a project they must work to be fixed immediately
- Must understand project flow and seek clarity where necessary
- Must understand project budget and hit daily production targets set by Lead Painter.
- Must demonstrate consistent safe work habits.
- Must use Tsheets to clock into projects and use monday.com to view work orders
- Must have good product knowledge of products in use
- Experienced in exterior painting and deck staining, 2 story ladder work.
- Clean and maintain all painting equipment on a daily basis, including brush, rollers, sprayers, pumps, learn how they operate, and proper set-up.
- Safely store and label all materials
- Erect scaffolding, ladders, and accessories as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes and standards
- Read and understand work orders, the project scope, and safety instructions.
Employment standards and Ability to
- Must perform all functions of the apprentice: site prep, masking, surface prep & cleaning.
- Must teach these functions to new apprentices & trainees.
- Must be proficient in advanced surface prep & patching techniques.
- Must be proficient in brushing, rolling, and basic spraying. Able to paint windows, doors, frames, cut straight line freehand without supervision in a competent timely manner with the highest degree of craftsmanship and in accordance with The Picky Painters Standards.
- Must demonstrate an understanding of job flow, execution, timelines, and project budgets.
- Must be able to teach the proper set-up, clean-up, and use of basic paint sprayers.
- Must be able to remove wallpaper, backing, and glue without damaging walls excessively
- Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely
- Perform heavy physical labor
- Climb ladders and scaffolding (must not be afraid of heights)
- Move and utilize up to a 28’ ladder alone for the entire work shift when required. (including all sizes of extension and step type ladders less than 28’)
- Gain access to roofs when necessary
- Erect and work on rolling scaffolding for the entire work shift
- Carry a full 5-gallon container of paint or equivalent weight up and downstairs
- Wear and use respirators when required for particulates
- Bend and reach while preparing and painting surface for the entire work shift
- Follow all instructions from higher-level painters, project managers, and owner
- Work safely and use common sense safe-working practices.

- Work in inclement weather, hot, cold, and rain
