How Much to Paint a Bedroom?
January 20, 2020The Picky Painters does many things differently from other painting companies. Our people make the difference. We only employ background-checked individuals with no criminal offenses on their records for any interior projects. They are fully insured under workman’s compensation, state, and federal unemployment insurance.
5 Reasons why we are the Best Painters in Town
1. We Keep Your Home Protected
The Picky Painters carry a million dollars in business liability insurance, and send a copy of our certificate with your quote. Therefore, our many layers of coverage cover you and your property. We have processes to cover and protect the items in your home from paint, dust, and damage. If there is a significant issue, our insurance will back us up. Ohio workers’ compensation insurance covers all our employees if any injuries are on your property to protect you and our employees.
2. We have the Best People that help us serve you
We take care of our employees and treat them like family with great pay, benefits, and room for advancement in our growing company. We offer earned PTO and more for all employees. We know that if we take care of our employees and treat them great, they will take care of your home and you when working on your project. Send them here if you know someone looking to join a great team. Here is where they can apply.
The Picky Painters and its employees also pay all the proper taxes, including social security, Medicare, federal, state, and local taxes. We pay overtime past 40 hours and drive time in company vehicles from the shop or project to project, as required by law. I estimate that less than 20% of painting contractors or companies do things properly. These are some of the main reasons our costs are higher than others.

3. The Processes we use to Painting Your Home
Our workers clock in and out on a cell phone app to keep track of where everyone is during work hours. All employees can access the work orders with pictures to know what is going on before they arrive to start your project. We use state-of-the-art software in every aspect of the business, from booking an appointment to completing your project. We have many processes and checklists to keep each project consistent and deliver the best result for every customer. This is one of the reasons we feel we are the best painters in town.

4. What do the other painting companies do?
Most painting companies use subcontractors to all costs and evade payroll taxes. Why is this bad for you? There is a simple answer: the cheaper the products, equipment, and more corners they can cut, the more they maximize their profits. If you go on this path, ensure the materials used are listed on the contract and used during the project.
If a company pays someone by the hour under 1099 status, that is payroll tax evasion. If they are subcontracting correctly, they produce a flat rate. The subcontractor has to supply all the labor, tools, and materials. They should also deal directly with the client and set up the schedule. They have to carry the insurances mentioned above, so you will have proof for their company, not just the company you hired. Another significant issue is if the main contractor doesn’t pay the subcontractor for the work they completed, the subcontractor can put an Ohio mechanics lien on your property.

5. The Picky Painters Estimating Details
Our company gives very detailed quotes to anyone looking for a painting estimate. We break down all the costs, such as how many coats we will do on each surface. We include customer project guides with each quote, so we can adequately explain the details about how the project would go and what to expect from us when we show up. We try to be very thorough and have standard pricing based on measurements and the work required for each project.
